Appendix A. Process for Faculty Recommendations Requiring Approval by the Board of Trustees


A.1


The process outlined below is generalized for faculty recommendations requiring Board of Trustees approval so that everyone may have an understanding of the process.  For recommendations pertaining to the Faculty Handbook, more detailed procedures up to the level of the President are outlined in Chapter 3 of this Handbook.

A recommendation is initiated.

A.1.2


Full Faculty and/or a Faculty standing committee makes a recommendation which, along with any supporting documentation, is passed on to the CAO.

A.1.3


The CAO reviews the recommendation and any supporting documentation and makes his/her own separate recommendation.  Both recommendations and any supporting documentation are passed on to the President.

The President reviews all documentation and makes his/her own recommendation.

A.1.5


All documentation is provided to the Board of Trustees for a final decision at the next regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting, or sooner if needed.

A.1.6


Final decisions are communicated back to stakeholders through the Office of the President.
