Business Analytics, BS

The Business Analytics program equips students with essential data analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL and Tableau. Through the use of low-code business analytics tools like spreadsheets and dashboards, students can tackle a wide range of business challenges.

This program includes online courses as part of the curriculum through our partnership with Rize. These offer students cutting-edge curriculum, greater scheduling flexibility, access to nationwide experts in the field, and access to even more resume-ready skills. Rize courses may not be taken for electives.

Program Student Learning Outcomes

  • Students will be able to apply action-oriented analysis for a given data problem in order to make their analytics as valuable as possible.
  • Students will be able to use probabilistic thinking to inform decision-making.
  • Students will be able to solve a range of real-world business problems using advanced database and dashboarding tools to create living analyses.
  • Students will be able to present analyses to be as actionable as possible by focusing on problems and solutions.
  • Students will be able to develop and carry out a professional analytics project, articulating the rationale, methodology, process, and impact of the project with skill and insight.
  • Students will be able to formulate and defend strategic recommendations based on data analysis that align with organizational goals and exhibit awareness of market trends and competitive dynamics.
     

Business Core


Students majoring in accounting, agricultural business, business administration, business analytics, cybersecurity, financial management, human resources management, management, marketing, or supply chain management must complete the 39-credit business core and the required credits in the major.
