BIO 135 - Principles of Biology I 4 Credit(s)
A practical course for the understanding of modern biological problems and their solutions. Focuses on explaining biomolecules and basic chemistry, cell structure, biological membranes, the basics of energy, enzymes, respiration, photosynthesis, the cell cycle, transmission genetics, and gene expression via transcription and translation. The first in a two-course introductory biology sequence for majors in the biological sciences. Meets the science requirement in The Peacock Professional Experience (“general education”) .
