This major takes advantage of cross-divisional opportunities and a cooperative relationship with Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) in Calmar. This major is offered only at Fayette Campus.
Program Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will analyze the general needs of customers of agricultural businesses and develop ways to support efficient agricultural production.
- Students will evaluate management and financial concepts and apply them in agricultural businesses (either farms or small businesses).
- Students will evaluate marketing concepts and apply those concepts to an agricultural business situation.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of the legal and ethical environment impacting agriculture organizations.
- Students will be able to synthesize multiple inputs and outputs in the agricultural field to make effective and profitable decisions.

Business Core
Students majoring in accounting, agricultural business, business administration, business analytics, cybersecurity, financial management, human resources management, management, marketing, or supply chain management must complete the 39-credit business core and the required credits in the major. NICC Courses:
- AGA 114 - Principles of Agronomy 3 Credits
- AGS 101 - Working with Animals 2 Credits
- AGS 114 - Survey of the Animal Industry 2 Credits
- AGB 235 - Introduction to Ag Markets 3 Credits
