BIO 433 - Ecological Restoration and Ecosystem Management Practices and Principles 4 Credit(s)
Investigation of biological, physical, and chemical processes involved in restoration of ecosystem structure and function to systems including grasslands, forests, and stream and riparian areas. Comparisons of management practices to reach restoration goals are made at site level to watershed level, utilizing case studies and existing literature. Different management approaches are identified and compared for a variety of scales of ecological restoration goals. Includes student identification of the objectives of restoration and managment and provides an evaluation system for the project’s success.
Prerequisites: BIO 335 and one of the following: MATH 105 , MATH 107 , MATH 115 , MATH 120 , MATH 200 . Undergraduate
